The men’s curling tournament at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing begins with a round robin game on February 9. The 10 qualified nations will compete in nine preliminary rounds and the four best teams advance to the semifinals, which is on February 17. .
Great Britain is the game favorite for the tournament at +200, with Canada and Sweden checking in just behind them at +225 and +275 respectively.
The US is next up but significantly further down the list at +800. Team USA won a surprising gold medal at the Games in South Korea four years ago, and the team that John Shuster skipped qualified again this year and will try to cope with the outrage and defend its title.
Three of the five members of that team are returning, including Shuster, who is in his fifth Olympic game in a row. In addition to the gold that won in 2018, he led the men’s team to a bronze medal in 2006 in Italy.
All men’s Olympic curling events will be broadcast on NBC networks or streaming services.

The women’s curling tournament at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing begins with a round robin game on February 9. The 10 qualified nations will compete in nine preliminary matches and the four best teams advance to the semifinals, which is on 18 February.
Sweden is the defending gold medalist and has been installed as +250 game favorites to take the title again this year. Just behind Sweden are Canada and the United Kingdom, both at +300, and Switzerland at +500. Four years ago in South Korea, the Canadians ended a disappointment with 4-5 in the group stage and missed a semifinal place. Great Britain went 6-3 in group games but lost to Japan in the bronze game.
The USA has 10/1 to win the gold medal and comes after an Olympics 2018 where they went with 4-5 in group games. Almost the entire team is back this year, with the big change being that Tabitha Peterson is now the jumper, with the 2018 jump Nina Roth still in the team in third place.
