The Tesla Model Y manufactured at Giga Berlin has driven from Norway to Sweden
Tesla has not received its final approvals to start manufacturing customer cars at Giga Berlin, but they have recently received approval to build up to 2,000 test cars.
Some of these cars are now being tested around Europe. At least two have gone to Norway, one of which was seen at the end of December at the service center in Oslo.
The Model Y Performance test car is on its way and has driven more than 210 km away to Uddevala, Sweden, where it was seen connected to a local Supercharger this weekend. (via Reddit)
When it was photographed in Norway, it was covered in snow, but this observation gives us a fantastic look at the build quality of the first cars from Giga Berlin.
From the back, there are no visible panel gaps or alignment problems, something that has plagued Model Y coming out of Fremont.
This is a good sign that pre-production test cars are also of high quality, which bodes well for the first customers who are expected to receive delivery soon.
This week, Tesla confirmed in its shareholder card for the fourth quarter of 2021 that all Model Ys coming from the production line in Germany will still have the current generation 2170 cells.
They also revealed that Giga Texas will take a different approach, starting with structural battery packs and 4,680 cells.
