If you receive an email from the Luxembourg police, it is surely a scam
Be careful when opening your emails. The Luxembourg police had already called for caution, but this Wednesday, January 26, the police announced that a fake email scam was continuing to rage in the country, indicates News Luxembourg. Comment concerned scammers? The latter send fraudulent e-mails which are allegedly signed by the general director of the police or (foreign) police authorities and which relate to an alleged criminal investigation. But it’s really just a scam.
Many individuals have made reports and the Grand Ducal police have warned that they do not proceed in this way. They invite all people who have received this email not to follow what is indicated in the email and to delete it automatically.
At the start of 2022, the Luxembourg police are not the only ones to fall victim to this type of scam. In recent days, Foyer, an insurance company in the Grand Duchy, has seen several of its customers receive fraudulent mail claiming to be from the company. He announces to potential victims an invoice paid twice and invites them to click on a link to hope to be reimbursed. New, the energy supplier Enovos is subject to the same scam.
