Toulouse: Caroline has found the solution to prevent the excess tiles from ending up in the dumpster
By paying for “Maison Carrelle”, Caroline René-Bazin gives a second life to dormant tile stocks and contributes her grain to the building of the circular economy.
Driven by her passion for tiling, the Toulousian Caroline René-Bazin has just created “Maison Carrelle”, a reuse business. His goal ? Giving a second life to dormant tiling stocks, preventing them from ending up in the recycling center. “I promise to only sell second-hand tiles even if the majority of these tiles are in their original packaging. Often they were intended for a construction site and were not installed. Or else, they are too many or have been refused by customers… So many reasons that explain why they pile up in one place, the owners say to themselves that they can always be used. Except that it never happens, ”explains the Toulousaine.

Never mind, Caroline René-Bazin has decided to take the bull by the horns and put them back in the circuit. For this, it offers them to craftsmen, architects, decorators, tilers, and even to individuals! “Today, it is important to save our resources by building projects based on what already exists. Rather than trying at all costs to be trendy, it is better to lay the tiles you want, ”she continues. Simple mosaic, zellige, cement tile, subway tile, earthenware,… classic or contemporary, Caroline René-Bazin has a wide range of products at very competitive prices and in all quantities.
“With Maison Carrelle, I wanted to set up something very structured. For example, if a professional calls me saying, I need 12m 2 of white, I must be able to tell him immediately if I have them”, continues Caroline. To do this, beforehand, it is she who collects, sources, selects, inventories and sells all her pieces. “I was lucky enough to find two deposits in two large companies in the region who donated their stocks of dormant tiles to me. In exchange, I save them time since I am the one who does the sorting, I save them the costs of the recycling centre. And in addition, they take part in the circular economy”, summarizes the entrepreneur. What more ?
