First in Ligue 1 for Tiago Ribeiro against Montpellier
Usual part of the National 2, the young Portuguese midfielder (19) celebrated his big pro debut with AS Monaco in the league this Sunday, in the last minutes of the match against Montpellier (3-2).
He dreamed of it a year ago, it’s now chosen done! First resident of the Academy to have been highlighted in the Rookie series in September 2020, Tiago Ribeiro has finally taken his first steps in pro with AS Monaco. Defensive midfielder with a silky left foot, the usual part of Stéphane Nado’s N2 had the honor of playing a few minutes in Montpellier this Sunday (3-2 defeat).
My goals this season is to play as much as possible with the N2. But my other objective, and that of everyone here, is to play with the professionals in Monaco. It’s very important to me, I dream about it, it’s my main goal. If we work, it will happen, I’m sure.

Fifth youngster of the N2 to make his professional debut
Launched by Philippe Clément in the 89th minute of play in place of Caio Henrique, the Portuguese U20 international (1 selection), had time to touch a few balls in midfield. And even if the result of the meeting was not the one proposed by the Red and Whites, this pure product of the Monegasque training center was able to achieve his objective. An extraordinary goal in the Gambardella Cup in 2020
The first two had already had the opportunity to tread the lawns of Ligue 1 before him, while the other two made their debut with the pro group in the Coupe de France, against Quevilly-Rouen (success 3-1). Arrived in the Principality in June 2018 from FC Porto, he grew up at the training center since then, until his arrival at La Diagonale in the summer of 2020… and this first pro. Kudos to him!
