Canine Service
The Dog Service was established on November 8, 1957, in order to ensure the use of carabinieri conductors and dogs, with an adequate level of training, for purposes of judicial police, search, rescue, security of sensitive areas and in all operations in which this intervention is of valid support.
The canine service is divided into:
Centro Carabinieri Canine with headquarters in Florence;
21 Canine Carabinieri Nuclei distributed throughout the country, with operational tasks .; (including the Nucleus of S. Rossore whose headquarters are located within the Regional Park of Migliarino S. Rossore Massaciuccoli: It was established on 1 November 1999 after the Presidential Summer Residence was abandoned. . The instructors of the Dog Center, respecting the diversified morphological and character characteristics of the races and the individuality of the individual, proceed with the training, using the principles of classical conditioning, operating conditioning and cognitive approach as a learning method.
The Dog Center:
Established in 1957, the Centro Cinofili is a department (headed by Colonel Angelo De Luca) under the authority of the Inspectorate of the Carabinieri Specialization Institutes (Gen. Fernando Nazzaro) which in turn depends on the Command of the Arma Schools (governed by General of the Army Corps Adolfo Fischione). The canine capacity units, according to the specifications of the dogs, are used:
in judicial police operations, preventive services and rescue operations, in order to:
