LIAMOO and Klara Hammarström release Sweden’s Beijing 2022 anthem “Gold, sweat & tears”!
They are said to compete against each other in the upcoming 2022 edition of the Swedish Eurovision national final Melodifestivalen, but in the name of sportsmanship, they have joined forces to release the official Swedish Winter Olympic song.
The Winter Olympics will take place in the Chinese capital, Beijing, which also hosted the Summer Olympics 14 years ago in 2008.
Hope to be able to inspire a Swedish Gold intoxication
The title “Gold, sweat & tears” is literally translated to “Gold, sweat and tears”. They hope to inspire Sweden at the Winter Olympics because they are one of the games’ titans. With 57 gold, 46 silver, 55 bronze medals and thus a total of 158 medals, they are the seventh best nation.
Collaborates, but not for the first time
This is not the first time LIAMOO and Klara have been working on a song together. Last year they released a Christmas song “Wish for something” together. It reports Aftonbladet that for Klara Hammarström, who is a former competition rider and competed for the national team, it was obvious to say yes when she was asked to perform the song.
It’s so much more than just a song. It’s fun to be a voice for our athletes. I myself have dreamed of competing in the Olympics and this is almost as close as you can get, but in music.
Klara Hammarström
LIAMOO says that the song is “sporty and fresh with a lot of energy”. The song is written by SAMI, who also this year competes in the Melodifestivalen in a duo Medina, together with Anderz Wrethov and Jimmy “Joker” Thörnfeldt. These have written songs for Eurovision before, especially for Cyprus where Anderz wrote “Fuego” and Jimmy composed “El Diablo”.
When two become two ones
LIAMOO will compete in the Melodifestivalen 2022 with the song “Bluffin ‘” and will perform in the second semifinal of the competition. Previously, LIAMOO has participated in Sweden’s national competition twice, 2018 and 2019 in a duet with Hanna Ferm. Klara Hammarström returns to the competition for the third year in a row. Last year she competed with “Beat of Broken Hearts” and finished sixth in the final. In 2020, she failed to qualify for the finals with “Nobody”. This year she will sing “Run to the Hills” in the fourth semifinal of the competition.
