San Marino. The letter: “I cannot accept that people’s rights are linked to a Qr-code”
We receive and publish in full the intervention by Lucio Pelliccioni entitled “I will not be an accomplice”:
“What burns is my ‘Green Pass’, an object that is precious enough to establish ‘Freedoms and Rights for a limited time’.
Possession of this sheet of paper is able to guarantee me rights, mine from birth and inviolable (art. 5 n. 59/1974 ‘The rights of the human person are inviolable’). The right to practice sports, to work, to access places of culture such as libraries or simply to have a coffee in a bar.
Now all this is conditioned by the possession or not of a certification that does not guarantee the contagiousness of a subject at a health level.
The validity of this tool? It is not known … One day 9 months, the next day 6 with a carryover of 2, the next day it expires but maybe not, maybe there is an extension or maybe you didn’t understand correctly …
It does not make me feel a citizen or deserving of someone who for reasons does not own it, I am a citizen owner and a human being more exactly like him / her.
There was a goal in all of this, albeit a noble one, to reduce infections, which today is a total failure, on all fronts. The infections are very high, the economic activities on the pavement, the only goal achieved is an extremely divisive social climate full of anger and hatred.
When a choice does not work, if you are in good faith and if you really care about the good of the country, you need to have the courage to change direction. Let me be clear, that this is completely outside the ‘vaccines yes or vaccines no discourse’, I am talking about this instrument that has nothing of health, thanks to this Qr-Code a part of citizenship is excluded from social life that until proven otherwise is just like others, so he should enjoy exactly the same rights as others.
In this moment of extreme difficulty, solidarity and union, they should be the cornerstones on which to start again, but each of your new decrees not only does not solve the problem of contagions but feeds divisions and discrimination.
I do not want to be and I will not be complicit in all this, as a citizen but as a human being I cannot accept that people’s rights are linked above all to a QR-Code.
‘Being free does not only mean getting rid of one’s chains, but living in a way that respects and values the freedom of others’ (Nelson Mandela) ”.
