Cheshire luxury hotel hosts Sweden’s women’s soccer team for the UEFA Euro 2022 tournament
A luxury spa and hotel CHESHIRE will be the base for this year’s favorites in the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 Football Championships.
Carden Park Estate, located on Broxton Road, on the outskirts of Chester, has announced that it will host the Swedish women’s national team during the tournament which takes place in England this summer.
Located on the picturesque Cheshire Countryside, the football team will have its own exclusive wing at the hotel (a quarter of the building) for almost three weeks during the summer.

With its very own UEFA-approved football pitch of the highest quality (where many international and British teams have played), the team will train right in the Carden Park area.
Regarding his decision to stay at Carden Park Estate, the head of delegation and national head Marika Domanski Lyfors said: “We have a really good feeling about our base camp in Carden Park Estate.
“We are happy to have our own part of the hotel where the team can relax privately between matches and it is fantastic that we can have some of our training sessions directly on the pitch – both have been important factors in our selection phase.
“We can not wait to work with Carden Park to create the best conditions for our team towards a hopeful victory this summer!”
The Swedish women’s football team is considered the favorites for this year’s UEFA Women’s Euro 2022.
Sweden is second highest in FIFA’s world rankings for women, just after the United States, and is considered the favorites for this year’s competition, even though they have not won it since 1984.
Between games and training sessions, players will be able to recharge in the spa with exclusive spa treatments, a friendly teammate’s round of golf on the PGA-certified course or dine at one of the farm’s restaurants.
Carden Park looks forward to supporting the team in playing their best by making them feel at home, helping them live well during their time in the UK and making sure they have everything they need to rest between matches.
Speaking about the team’s stay, the director and general manager of Carden Park Estate, Hamish Ferguson, said: “The whole team is absolutely happy to have the Swedish women’s national team with us during the 2022 European Football Championship.
“We are delighted that the team feels that Carden Park Estate is a place for equal opportunities for integrity and much-needed well-being between matches and training. We look forward to hopefully celebrating with them at the end of their tournament!”
In the tournament, Sweden will be in the same group as the 2017 European Championship champions the Netherlands, Russia and Switzerland. They will play their matches in both Sheffield and Leigh.
UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 starts on July 6, when England host Austria at Old Trafford, Manchester.
The final will be played at Wembley Stadium on 31 July. The matches will be shown on the BBC.
