Panathinaikos beat Olympiakos 3-2 in women’s volleyball
In a match that was an advertisement for women’s volleyball, Panathinaikos managed in the big derby with Olympiakos to qualify for the Cup quarterfinals in Renti.
The “greens” having excellent performances on the block, prevailed over the “red and whites” with 3-2 (25-22, 17-25, 25-20, 20-25, 6-15) and won the ticket for the next phase, projecting as the big favorite of the Cup.
In the fourth set, Olympiakos led 5-2, but Cross’s block in Hippe reduced to 9-8 and tied 9-9 with the Canadian attack. New block in Hippe 9-10. Papafotiou block in Costa 9-11.
Great streak with Hadava services. Costa’s 9-13 out and Genitsaridi in her place. Hadava lost the serve from 9-5, and after the match went to 9-13. Genitsaridis 11-14, out of Chatziefstratiadou 12-14. Hadava 12-15, block in Sala 12-16 and time out. Salas 13-16 and out Giota due to injury, in her place Kelesidi.

Hippe’s overload forced the German to nail out for 20-22 and in her place Zioga who also received a block (20-23). Place Grotes 20-24 and return Hippe, Costa. Hadava 20-25.
In the tie break, Panathinaikos led 2-6 with bad attacks by Hippe and Costa (replaced by Genitsaridis) and returned with 2-8. The German was also replaced at 2-10, to end the match with 6-15.
