San Marino. Anti-Covid restrictions in schools, Mixed Group: “Everyone’s right to education is prejudiced”
The Mixed Group openly disputes the circulars that dictate the rules to be respected in the case of Covid-19 positive teachers or students in San Marino schools.
“While the Great and General Council is preparing to discuss and pass the Covid decrees, circulars are discovered, probably addressed by the Emergency Group Iss to the political head of the Secretariat of State for Education, which dictate the rules to be respected in case of positivity of pupils or teachers within the classes – reports the Mixed group in a statement -. What has been brought to our knowledge, in addition to creating theyet another unsustainable differentiation and discrimination between vaccinated and unvaccinated subjectsit will irremediably undermine the right to education, while also creating discontinuity in school with recourse to the so-called ‘Dad’, deleterious and useless if too prolonged for our childrenalready severely tried for over two years to release and restrictions “.
Furthermore, the Mixed Group considers “absurd that, in the event of an ascertained positivity within a class, all pupils who are not vaccinated but negative to the control pad will not only be obliged to follow the lessons via distance learning but will also be obliged to respect a senseless period of strict quarantine; for ten days, therefore, the unvaccinated children, but we stress once again, verified negative, they will not be able to leave the house; at the same time, however, the vaccinated pupil, even if a positive contact, will be guaranteed a normal social life “.
This, according to the Mixed Group, “is in all respects an abuse because it has now been widely demonstrated that the transmission of the virus can also take place by a vaccinated person; if the sole purpose is to encourage the vaccination of a fewolder students are already almost all vaccinated or cured, it is morally untenable that he wants it by accepting everyone’s right to education“.
“These rights are called fundamental because their protection is not an option. In the same way, it prevents a teacher from going to school even after a negative swab just because he is not vaccinated, it is creating evident and insurmountable organizational problems – underlines the mixed group in a polemical tone -. Unlike Italy, in fact, in San Marino we do not have inexhaustible rankings and, as a direct consequence of these unreasonable choices, the risk is that of not being able to guarantee the necessary didactic continuity and the permanence of important reference figures for younger children“.
And again: “In addition to the serious organizational consequences described briefly up to now, we mainly ask ourselves about whether, and possibly the basis of which assumption, a health document can compress up to this point the rights of a worker. Furthermore, we ask ourselves for which interventions to limit and to the reason for the containment of infections from Covid-19 in the school should not follow the instrument of decree. This has prevented, again, to know in time considered suitable, without having the possibility of time and any amendments if, on the other hand, they are wrong or incorrect “.
Finally, there is a appeal to the Secretary of State for Education and Culture, Andrea Belluzzi: “Come on, Secretary Belluzzi, confrontation and the law must also apply to you. We ask you, also and above all, what authority a secretariat of state for education can ever express, which in fact accepts all this. We believe without a doubt it is important and unavoidable to discuss with the competent health organizations this does not give rise to abuses of rights and accommodation of the rules on the right to education“.
