Restructuring will take place at FC Wacker Innsbruck in the coming weeks and months. You part with the investor Mikhail Ponomarev, the current board of directors, is resigning and a new team of young Tyroleans will take care of the agenda of the traditional Tyrolean club with immediate effect.
Breakup with Mikhail Ponomarev
After FC Wacker Innsbruck faced unmanageable financial challenges in July 2021, Mikhail Ponomarev played a key role in ensuring that the game continued. After diverging more and more in the conception of the future direction of the club in the last few weeks, it was decided to go separate ways in the future.
Resignation of the current board
With the exception of Thomas Kerle, the current board of directors is stepping down with immediate effect. Kevin Radi and Bernhard Dornauer are co-opted to the board and take over their positions at the traditional Tyrolean club with immediate effect. At the next general assembly, new elections will take place, after which the new board team can be elected by member resolution.
New core member + new leadership
BlockRock GmbH becomes a new core member of FC Wacker Innsbruck. The Tyrolean company has secured financing for the next few years with an investor in the background. Kevin Radi and Bernhard Dornauer will act as operational contacts in Innsbruck from today. A new athletic director and a new coach will also be announced soon.
