Dupont absent for the third week in a row
Antoine Dupont has still not participated in the training of the Stade Toulousain on Tuesday and remains uncertain for the Champions Cup match next Saturday on the Wasps field.
The international scrum-half Antoine Dupont was still absent from training at Stade Toulousain on Tuesday. This is the third week in which the club is deprived of its number nine, due to flu syndrome at the base, according to the club.
Antoine Dupont also played his last match under the colors of Toulouse on December 11 during the victory in Cardiff (7-39) in the Champions Cup. The next match against Wasps was postponed, as was the next match against Stade Français at the Stadium in Top 14.
A European match before joining the Blues?
In Clermont, on January 1, he was still at rest. His participation against Montpellier was then hypothetical, but the match before was postponed … According to those around him, Dupont is slowly resuming on his side.
But nothing says that the “best player in the world” will be at the Wasps this Saturday. On the contrary … he will therefore have a deadline with his club, the arrival of Cardiff, to hope to play before the 6 Nations Tournament.
Because then, he will join the training camp for the XV of France in Aubagne, Monday, January 24. And it should logically be kept by the staff of the Blues during the Racing room at the Stade Toulousain, a week in France-Italy (February 6). The staff of the Blues may therefore hope to see him at work with Toulouse against Cardiff, the last team that Dupont will have faced since December 11.
In addition, Toulouse will probably still be deprived of Rynhardt Elstadt for a while. The South African, injured in the ankle for many months, had resumed training. But he still feels his injury and goes back on a cycle of care. Another uncertainty, concerning the 2nd line Rory Arnold, still reported at the knee after an injury this fall with his selection.
