Marseille: a woman recognizes the murder of her ex-companion, found charred in mid-September
Dramatic history in Marseille. A 20-year-old young woman admitted “the murder in an organized gang” of her 25-year-old ex-companion whose charred body had been found in a city of Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône) mid-September, announced this Monday Dominique Laurens, prosecutor of the Republic of Marseille. The young woman was indicted in October and placed in pre-trial detention.
The announcement of the Marseille prosecutor’s office comes three days after the arrest of an acquaintance of the young woman, on January 7. A 30-year-old man was indicted on the same charges, for “murder in an organized gang and modification of the inventory of a crime in order to obstruct the manifestation of the truth”.
The victim had died before his cremation
The forensic autopsy had revealed that the victim, known for cases of violence, had died before her cremation, “following a very large number of blows from an object that could be likened to a knife”. His body had been found in the middle of the buildings of Parc Corot, a city in the northern districts of Marseille plagued by drug trafficking and where some victims of settling of scores could be discovered charred in cars.
