Prof. Dr. Joachim Frick, LL.M./JSD, returned to Baker McKenzie Zurich in 1997 after practicing with Baker McKenzie in Taipei and Chicago. In 2001 he became a partner. His main areas of activity are dispute resolution, corporate law and insurance. Prof. Frick represents clients as a party attorney in litigation and arbitration with a special focus on corporate, insurance, aviation and M&A disputes. He heads the insurance practice of the Zurich branch and, as a member of the steering committee, is co-head of the European Financial Services & Insurance Group. He advises Swiss and international insurance and reinsurance clients on disputed and out-of-court insurance matters and has been recognized by Who is Who ‘Legal and IBA’s Who is Who of Business Lawyers as one of the leading insurance lawyers in Switzerland. Joachim Frick is Professor of Law at the University of Zurich (title professor) and teaches and publishes regularly in the areas of international private law, arbitration and insurance. He is a member and regular speaker in various professional associations on arbitration and insurance law. He is a graduate of the University of Zurich (Dr. iur. 1992) and the Yale Law School (LL.M. 1996, JSD 2000).
