Ukraine has every chance to receive the last tranche of the IMF on time
Ukraine has all the current structural changes and will receive the last tranche of the International Monetary Fund for the current program in June and at least until the end of 2022 to do without the fund’s money.
This was reported to Espresso.TV by the chairman of the parliamentary committee on finance, tax and customs policy Danilo Getmantsev, Ukrinform reports.
“I do not see any structural beacons that we could not work to get the next thrash. I predict that we will receive the next June tranche, perhaps in time, “he said.
At the same time, the MP added that Ukraine has passed the years of peak payments on public debt and may consider switching to state budget financing without the support of the International Monetary Fund.
“We have passed the peak years of 2020 and 2021… I would like to consider the possibility and hold a discussion about the new program, instead of jumping into it. Probably, this will be an opportunity to pass without the IMF by the end of the year, next year without the Fund, and then look at the page with public finances, ”Hetmantsev commented.
Transfer: In June 2020, the IMF approved a stand-by program for Kyiv totaling about $ 5 billion, immediately allocating the first tranche of $ 2.1 billion in funding. However, the agreed review schedule was violated allocated the second tranche of $ 700 million
