Innsbruck – Friday, January 7th, 2022, 6:45 p.m.
FC Wacker Innsbruck and Okan Aydin are now going separate ways!
As the Tiroler announced on Friday evening, the contract, which runs until the summer, will be terminated by mutual agreement. It is still uncertain where the 27 attacking player will continue his career.
Aydin has been tying his football boots for Innsbruck since October 2020 and has scored seven goals and four assists in 32 competitive games.
“I am very grateful to FC Wacker Innsbruck for the past year, in which I was able to take a lot of impressions and experiences with me for my further career. Unfortunately, we were unable to follow up on the performances shown in spring and achieve the desired success in autumn”, will Aydin quoted from the press release.
“In the end I decided to look for a new sporting challenge and asked the club to terminate my contract early.
Sports director Alfred Hörtnagl says about the situation: “We would like to thank Okan for his dedication in the past year. He was able to prove his qualities again and again and helped us to achieve important points with decisive moments (note for example the winning goal scorer in the games against Dornbirn, Steyr .), Amstetten). Nevertheless, we complied with the player’s request and agreed to terminate the contract prematurely and to go our separate ways in the future. We wish him all the best for his sporting and private future!
