Faced with the deteriorating health situation, Monaco is taking new restrictive measures
From tomorrow, and until the end of February, new measures come into force in the Principality in the face of a health situation which continues to deteriorate. Here are the main provisions in 4 points.
On the health pass
– The health pass will be extended from tomorrow to new professions in sectors that are decisive for the functioning of the state, in particular administration, justice, security, banking, transport, cleaning, etc.
At the end of December, a first extension of the sanitary pass, effective from January 10, had been decided for sectors of activity where contacts with customers were close and prolonged such as the building and beauty sector (aesthetics, hairdressers). , tattooing and sports.
They are also concerned by the thousands of employees in sectors said to be essential to the good continuity of the State’s service to the population. Among them, for example, public security agents, bus drivers, SMA agents, bankers, judges and magistrates… But not teachers at this stage. The entities concerned by this extension will list in the coming days all of their employees subject to this extension.
As a reminder, this is the extension of the health pass, that is to say a complete vaccination schedule or a negative PCR or antigen test. in Monaco these remain valid for 72 hours.
In the restaurant business
– In restaurants starting this Saturday, in order to limit the very high risks of contamination with the Omicron variant, the presence of which on the soil of the Principality is constantly increasing, the maximum number of diners at the table goes from 12 to 8 people. The spacing between the tables is increased from 1meter to 1meter 50.
Audience gauges
– For all public, cultural and sporting gatherings, the gauge is reduced to 2,000 people per event. The possibility of derogations is possible on a case-by-case basis.
Isolation periods are reduced
– Finally, at the same time the isolation periods are revised downwards with monitoring to be carried out in the form of tests. A new provision to avoid paralysis of the State with the number of cases that explode and which is justified by the fact that, even if it is very present and contaminating, the Omicron variant remains less aggressive.
Of the 3 possibilities.
For positive cases: isolation thus goes from 10 to 7 days provided that the person is no longer symptomatic and with reinforced barrier gestures for 4 days after leaving isolation.
For vaccinated or unvaccinated low-risk contact cases: no isolation, PCR or antigen test on D + 2 of contact, self-tests recommended on D + 4 and D + 6 and reinforced barrier actions for 7 days after contact.
For high-risk vaccinated or unvaccinated contact cases (within the same focus): isolation for 7 days (instead of 10) and PCR or antigen test on D + 7, reinforced barrier actions for 7 days.
