Marseille: the City carries out its project to waterproof and revegetate schoolyards
In 2021, the municipality of Marseille had initiated a project to waterproof and revegetate schoolyards in three establishments in the city: the Revolution Jet d’eau elementary schools (3rd arrondissement) and the Sainte-Sophie elementary and kindergarten schools. (4th). A project that has just been completed within the latter.
This project consists of transforming the playgrounds into islands of freshness, by revegetating the courtyards, into products made from more natural materials such as wood to reduce the use of tar and concrete, sources of heat. A way to act against global warming.
