AS Monaco will go to Lens in the round of 16 of the Coupe de France
The draw for the knockout stages of the Coupe de France has given its verdict. The Rouge et Blanc will be on the RCL field for the third time on the weekend of January 28/31.
Never two without three. After eliminating the Red Star in Saint-Ouen in the 32nd final (2-0) and Quevilly-Rouen at the Stade des 16es in Robert-Diochon last Sunday (3-1), the AS Monaco players will travel for the third times in the Coupe de France this season. On the occasion of the weekend of January 28/31, the teammates of Kevin Volland, double scorer in Normandy, will challenge Lens in the North.

Fourth confrontation between the two clubs
The draw for the round of 16 of the competition has indeed given its verdict before the Northern derby, won this Tuesday evening by Franck Haise’s men. This will be the fourth meeting between the Red and White and the RCL in the Coupe de France. During the three previous oppositions, the Principality club had won each time, after extra time in the 32nd final in 1996 and in the semi-final in 2010 with the same score (1-0). Then in regulation time at the quarter-finals stage in 2014 (6-0).
In the first leg of the league this season, the Monegasques lost to the Lensois at the Stade Louis-II (2-0). See you at the end of January therefore for the revenge.
