Rui Pinto reacts to computer attack against the Impresa group
A reaction from the hacker responsible for Football Leaks was made on Twitter, denouncing those who associate it with the Ransomware attack

Hacker Rui Pinto reacted this Monday to the computer attack that the Impresa group (which owns the newspaper Expresso and SIC) was targeted this Sunday, noting that “only a very twisted mind” can trace a connection between the crimes it is accused and the “ransomware ravagers”.

Rui Pinto’s response comes after he was accused on Twitter of having been behind this attack against the group. In the publication, it states that this type of resource by Ransomware were responsible for damaging hospital systems, but also pipelines and other strategic sectors.
In what is his first reaction since the attack was committed, Rui Pinto does not mention the group of hackers, known as Grupo Lapsus, who seek to pay a ransom to unlock access to the websites of the Impresa group.
After the computer attack, Grupo Lapsus managed to access the Twitter page of the newspaper Expresso to publish a message “Lapsus $ is officially the new president of Portugal”.

At 20:00 hours on Monday, the main pages of the Impresa group have not yet won, with the newspaper Expresso continuing to share news through social networks. In a statement, the Impresa group and the attack as an “unseen attack on press freedom in Portugal in the digital age” and added that it would file a criminal complaint for its success.
At issue is a type of computer attack known as ransomware, which restricts access to an infected system, requiring payment in exchange for unblocking services. So far, the intended amount for unlocking information sites has not been disclosed.
