Salzburg expands winning streak

HC Pustertal got off to a great start in the home game against Salzburg and took the lead after just 62 seconds: JP Lamoureux lost the target behind the goal and Pustertals Raphael Andergassen netted in the half-empty gate. Then there was both a first third, in which teams played at eye level and repeatedly came up with opportunities. In the second section, Salzburg increased the pressure and equalized in the 34th minute, Florian Baltram deflected a shot from Ali Wukovits in front of the goal and overcame the strong Pustertal goalie Tomas Sholl to make it 1-1 after 40 minutes. In the final third, the Red Bulls took the lead for the first time when Dominique Heinrich hit the power play from the blue line into Kreuzeck (49th). But Pustertal struck back and equalized again, Dante Hannoun scored after a 2-on-1 counterattack to make it 2-2. With this stand it also went into extra time, which means that the fourth season duel between these two teams was not decided in regular time. In overtime, Thomas Raffl hammered the disc out of the half-height slot under the crossbar (62nd) and secured the Red Bulls a hard-fought 3-2 away win. It was Salzburg’s ninth win in a row.
