Lisbon Chamber testing posts reopen after two days closed
The 11 mobile testing posts à covid-19 of the Lisbon City Council (CML) reopen this Monday, after two days closed, due to the combination of the New Year holiday with Sunday, the day on which the posts are separated.
Despite the high demand from the population and the number of registered cases and tests carried out in the last working days of 2021, a CML source confirmed to Lusa that the testing posts “always closed on holidays and Sundays”.
Thus, between Monday and Saturday, the post located in Cais do Sodré is the only one open from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm, while the posts in Martim Moniz, Restauradores, Belém (Praça Afonso de Albuquerque), Campo Pequeno and Parque das Nações (Gare do Oriente) will be open next week between 09:00 and 18:00.
Exclusively at night time, from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm, it will be available at stations in Largo de Santos, Praça de Luís de Camões and Príncipe Real, keeping this time between January 3rd and 8th.
According to the official website of the municipality, there will also be a reinforcement of testing on Tuesday, with the operation of test posts between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm in the Ajuda, Benfica, Ribeira and Campo de Ourique markets , in addition to the places already referenced.
The municipal covid-19 testing plan provides that the tests – free – available to residents and non-residents, with each person being able to take a test every three days.
Lisbon and Vale do Tejo continue to be the region with the most deaths and newest cases diagnosed within 24 hours, in a total, today, of five and 6,111, respectively. Since the beginning of the pandemic, in March 2020, the region of Lisbon and Vale do Tejo has registered 561,002 cases and 7,984 deaths.
In Portugal, since March 2020, 18,990 people have died and 1,424,016 cases of infection have been recorded, according to data from the Directorate-General for Health today.
