Dachau / Munich – help around the clock – Dachau
The fear of being infected with the coronavirus, loneliness or insecurities in everyday life: the Christmas season and the turn of the year are enormously psychologically stressed for many people. You can get help from the Psychiatry Crisis Service of the Upper Bavaria district. He can be reached around the clock on 0800/655 30 00. Lately, many callers have been plagued by fears, for example due to the corona pandemic, reports the Dachau state parliament member Bernhard Seidenath (CSU). Mourning and being overwhelmed are further reasons why many people dial the number of the crisis service.
In Bavaria, the offer has been available since July 1, 2020. The background is the Mental Health Assistance Act, which came into force in summer 2018 and “was one of the most important state laws of the last legislative period,” said Seidenath, the was involved in the new law as health policy spokesman for the CSU parliamentary group. The Dachau district council and the then district assembly president Josef Mederer (CSU) cut the Gordian knot, said Seidenath. The districts urgently have to pay for the costs of the mobile emergency teams, while the Free State provides for the equipment and operation of the control centers – and would spend seven million euros per year.
Seidenath recently visited the control center of the Psychiatry Crisis Service in Munich. “In the emergency medical service for the somatic area – also in the well-known emergency doctor system – there is a lot here in the psychiatric area that is still fresh and new” to get everything out of the taboo corner and to free them from their stigma that has been around for a long time Part still sticks, ”emphasizes Seidenath.
While a broken leg is connected as completely normal, mental illness is sometimes still looked at crookedly. “They are just ordinary illnesses that can be treated well. And the earlier we treat them, the better it is for the individual affected, but also for society: Because it is often mental illnesses that lead to long periods of incapacity for work.” said Seidenath.
At the Crisis Service Psychiatry Oberbayern, callers receive qualified emergency help in the event of mental crises and psychiatric emergencies of all kinds. The control center’s questions listen, follow up and find a way out of the crisis together with those seeking help. If necessary, a mobile team is available to assist you personally.
