Cologne: Hundreds of participants at an illegal rave party on New Year’s Eve

The city of Cologne draws a mixed conclusion on New Year’s Eve in the city area.
The city of Cologne announced on Saturday afternoon (January 1st) that they were “busy” and took stock of the New Year’s Eve celebrations in Cologne.
A total of 115 employees were on duty, including a bicycle relay for the first time. “This way, pleading wild pissers could easily be caught, who now have to reckon with fines,” said the city.

Because with spring-like temperatures of around 13 degrees, several visitors could be in Cologne – especially in the old town. Bars with outdoor catering in the Rheingarten as well as the Rheinboulevard were checked. “The law enforcement officers made sure that minimum distances were observed and that no firecrackers were brought into the prohibited areas,” was the task at hand.
Compliance with the corona protective measures – this was not pointed out everywhere. The city said: “The ban on dancing was not complied with in several places: A party in the belly of the Deutz Bridge was broken up, as were secret raver parties with several hundred participants at the Eifeltor and the Gremberghoven freight station, where the police and security service put an end to it.

There was also dancing in two clubs in the city center – these were closed by the security service with the support of the police. “
“In the coming weeks we will all have to be very disciplined and careful. The turn of the year was a good start. I am sure that we will all continue to adhere to the rules and make use of the numerous vaccination offers, 2022 WILL be a very wonderful year, ”prophesied Reker.
