Valbuena will receive € 568,000 from Marseille
Following a dispute dating from 2014, Olympique de Marseille has just been ordered by the Aix en Provence Court of Appeal to pay € 568,000 to Mathieu Valbuena.
In 2014, Mathieu Valbuena decided to change agent from Christophe Hutteau to Jean-Pierre Bernès. At the time, he had reached an agreement with Mr. Hutteau for a payment of € 568,000. If he had not finally paid, the court of Aix en Provence had forced him to pay. For his part, Mathieu Valbuena turned against OM who had agreed to take charge of this amount.
In 2014, Valbuena’s lawyer contacted Vincent Labrune (president of OM at the time) by email:
“For good form, can you confirm to me that OM are indeed paying Christophe Hutteau’s compensation (around € 568k) in the context of this deal? “
Vincent Labrune had simply replied with “OK”. A very inspired response which will ultimately cost the club dearly since this time the Aix en Provence court ordered the club to pay the sum to Mathieu Valbuena as indicated. Capital city.
The former president of OM still manages to show the full extent of his talent as president.
