The new year will be at the restaurant and at the theater in Avignon
While nightclubs are closed, bars restricted by the ban on dancing and the obligation to close at 1:30 am in the Vaucluse, some decide to celebrate the new year at the theater or restaurant. Health restrictions: wearing a mask and a health pass still apply, but it allows you to end the year by thinking of something else chosen than the health crisis.
The New Year’s meal will take place without the DJ which was planned at the restaurant of the Novotel d’Avignon Center. But the good atmosphere will still be there for the 100 customers present. It is mainly tables for two people that have been reserved. “Instead of being bored together or inviting friends over to the house with the risk of having a cluster or contamination, customers come to the restaurant. At least they have the atmosphere around the New Year without to be alone and they share a moment together “ tells Charles Antoine Ellis, responsible for the evening service.
End the year at the theater
After the restaurant, some will end the year at the theater. At Laughter Palace, in Avignon intramural, the three screenings of the show “Always Celib” at 6.30pm, 8.30pm and 10.30pm are almost complete. The 46 spectators per performance will be masked but the idea is to have a good time explains Mélanie Vargas, the manager of the Palais du Rire: “These are people who really want to share a rather intimate moment, to talk about the show and to interact with the actor.” Moreover, a bottle of champagne will be opened at the end of the last session, around 11:45 p.m .: “we will be able to drink in 2022 which will be better than 2021 I hope.”
“We come to share a good time, emotions with artists” – Eric Gautret, producer of shows
The end of the year will also be celebrated at Le Paris theater in Avignon even if one of the three shows on offer has been canceled because an actor has tested positive for Covid-19. Eric Gautret, producer of shows who will hold the Le Paris theater in Avignon on the evening of the 31st says: “It’s always a very good atmosphere. We come to share a good time, emotions with artists.” History of thinking of others who chose that of the health crisis: “Even the mask, we forget it. For an hour and a half, we put all that aside. We are in a protected and privileged place.” The sessions will be over before the countdown towards the new year but Eric Gautret assures us: “We will pass on all our hopes and all the energy for 2022.” The two shows being played at the Le Paris theater are “Adorable” and “Le clan des divorcées”.
