Hallein (AP) – Because of a suspicious streak of luck, a supermarket employee in Austria is targeted by the judiciary. As the Salzburg police reported on Friday, the woman had issued lottery tickets worth around 40,000 euros in her shop without paying them.
The 22-year-old was blown after repeatedly cashing in winnings in tobacco shops in the Hallein area (state of Salzburg), the police reported. The saleswoman in one of the shops informed the lottery company about the noticeably frequent lottery hits. Video recordings in the supermarket of the young woman would have corroborated the suspicion.
According to the police, the suspect won a total of around 12,000 euros, of which she redeemed around 5,000 euros. The confessing woman was dismissed without notice and charged with infidelity.
