NORWAY

Warns against slippery roads in several places in the country – NRK Norway – Overview of news from different parts of the country

Sugar Mizzy December 30, 2021

It has been extremely slippery on the roads in several places in Norway on Thursday. This has resulted in several accidents.

During the night it was more than 10 degrees Celsius in several places in Eastern Norway, and freezing rain created unpleasant conditions. Over the morning, the traffic must have improved somewhat, says Mikael Olsen, traffic operator in Oslo.

Olsen further says that the plow crew has been out plowing and salting, and the morning traffic has helped with the conditions. At the same time, he asks people to adjust their speed further throughout the day.

– You can probably expect it to be wintery. In several places there is still snow on the road, but bare in the tracks. Field change can be a bit disgusting, and you should take it easy throughout the day.

On the E18 at Lier, a car has been reported spinning just after the Fosskoll tunnel. There it is open for normal traffic after car salvage of four involved cars.

– The course of events is currently unclear, the South-East police district tweets.

Two cars are involved in a traffic accident on the E6 at Skjeberg.

– One person was transported by ambulance to Kalnes hospital. A total of three people were taken care of by health, probably only slightly injured. One field has been opened for the time being, reports the Police in the East.

Also at E6 in Ingedal in Sarpsborg there has been a traffic accident between two cars on Thursday morning.

RV7 asks opened for normal traffic again after a lorry drove into a center section. The driver escaped unharmed, but there was a need for time-consuming car salvage and clean-up.

Inland, it has snowed through the night, and more snow has been reported during the day.

– There are partly difficult driving conditions. It has snowed and been cold, and then it gets slippery. All of the crew are out, says Thale Eikesett, traffic operator for Innlandet.

At Trysil, there was a traffic accident between two cars at half past nine in the morning. No one should be injured.

– Poor visibility and very slippery, the Inland Police announced on Twitter.

Half past ten the police updated that they had finished on site, and that both lanes were again open for normal traffic.

In Sørlandet, there have been several accidents from night to Thursday and beyond. Much due to slippery roads. Among other things, a police car drove into the ditch on E18 during an emergency. No people were injured.

Traffic operator Stian Molteberg says the main roads on Sørlandet, E18 and E39, are mainly just now.

– On the smaller roads there may still be some snow, slush and is left. It is the busiest roads that are prioritized first when it comes to plowing and spreading, and then the smaller roads are taken afterwards, he says.

At Storemyrkrysset by Lillesand, a car must have spun at a roundabout. The car has been removed and the traffic can go as normal.

– It is reported that it is very slippery in the roundabouts and the on / off fields at the intersection, the police in Agder tweet.
