Scottie Girls Miss Match-up Conference Against Malta
The Glasgow girls’ basketball team, devastated by illness, found themselves in a state of disrepair on Wednesday evening when Malta M-ettes came to town. The visiting team took control early in the game while the Scotties struggled in many aspects of their game. Malta won the Color Rush Night match 46-19.
The Maltese team took a 12-3 lead after the Scots went 3-for-6 in the freethrows line in the first quarter. Carly Nelson was the only Scottie to score at first. Glasgow were held to three points again in the second quarter while Malta scored 11 points.
Glasgow scored 11-6 in the third quarter and 12-7 in the last eight minutes as Malta came out on top.
Ten of the Scotties ’19 points came from their 14th attempt at the charity strip. Tyann Graham went 4-for-4 and put up a three-pointer to lead the Scotties by 7 points. Daley Aune scored 6 points, 2-for-4 in the line. Nelson added a field goal to her three freethrows for 5 points and Blaire Westby scored 1 point.
Glasgow played a clean game with only six fouls split evenly in half. Graham was called up for two while Westby, Aune, Nelson and Brielle Partridge were called up for one each.
The Scotties were missing starter Abrianna Nielsen and sixth-ranked Tatum Nyquist.
The JV team also dropped their rivalry match, losing 47-21.
LM-ettes maintained a 12-8 lead at the end of the first half and went into the middle from above 23-10. They scored 12 points each in the third and fourth quarters while keeping the Scotties up to 6 and 5 points in those same quarters.
Hayden Green led Glasgow by 6 points. Allie Palm and Partridge scored 4 each. Tanae Baker, Addison Young and Piper Johnson each hit a field goal while Eve Stone hit a free throw.
The JV squad also kept their fouls to a total of six, three in each section. Palm was called up for four while Riley Evenson-Glasoe and Stone were called up for one each.
The C Squads met at Scottie Gymnasium on Monday evening. LM-ettes kept the visitors in the lead after 14-8 with a superb strike from the right.

Johnson scored 5 points to lead the team, and went 3-for-4 in line. Green scored 4 points, Macy Martin 3 while Young and Mary Dykema added 2 each. Summer Strommen, Addi Zoanni and Stone added a free throw each.
The Scotties were called up for 16 fouls, split evenly between halves. Martin was called to three. Evenson-Glasoe, Abby Kulczyk, Stone and Green had two fouls each. Kheyerah Bilger, Strommen Johnson, Zoannie and Emmah Mix were called up for a single foul.
The Scotties return to the hardwoods after the holiday break on Thursday, January 6, 2022, when the North Country Mavericks will be in town. The girls’ JV game starts at 3:30 pm, followed by the boys’ game at 5 pm The girls’ varsity game is scheduled for 6:30 pm and the the boys is scheduled for 8 p.m.
Glasgow travels to Scobey on Saturday, January 8, 2022 to take on Spartans. Games will begin at 2:30 p.m.
