San Marino. From USL a firm no “to the disproportionate increases in bills”
“A meeting was held yesterday morning with the Secretariat of State for Labor and AASS Managers on the subject of the increase in bills foreseen as early as the beginning of the year 2022”.
USL, reports a press release, “one more has reiterated that if from one point of view it is understandable that over time a tariff adjustment is necessary, on the other hand, increases are not acceptable, in a single intervention, of 30 – 35% of the users .
Unfortunately, the comparison did not go in the way hoped for.
In fact, on the one hand, the company has entrenched itself behind the fact that it is absolutely necessary to intervene as there have not been high prices in San Marino for many years and also that the market for electricity, water and gas prices, at an international level, is literally gone mad with disproportionate increments.
On the other hand, the Government, on the other hand, is hiding behind the fact of having to take note of the decisions of the Authority and in the face of the USL union to intervene urgently to calm prices and to distribute the increase over several years, glosses.
We reiterate how an increase in bills of this magnitude is disproportionate and will lead, together with other future pension cuts, missed wage increases, prices in general increasingly skyrocketing, a fast and strong economic recession in the country. A further blow to the families who see each other day after day reduces their purchasing power.
We do not want to go into the merits of why a company like AASS, flagship for the country and always in surplus, today closes its balance sheet at a loss, but we express the most absolute opposition to the choices that were illustrated to us in the meeting today, decisions that do not take into account the serious period of economic crisis that many families are going through, also due to the pandemic that unfortunately still grips many countries ”.
