Bordeaux-Marseille in suspense, the reserve in the Coupe de France? – the Girondins
Faced with a wave of contamination linked to Covid-19, the Girondins de Bordeaux see the holding of their next two matches in suspense.
Will Bordeaux play for the next two weeks? The question is on the table with ten new players who tested positive for Covid-19 this morning for the resumption of training.
Bordeaux-Marseille postponed?
According to information from the newspaper L’Équipe, if the Bordeaux management has already submitted a file to the FFF to postpone the match against Brest in the Coupe de France, the reception of Marseille in the league could also be threatened.
The reason: the proximity of the two meetings (Sunday January 2 and Friday January 7). Indeed, it is very likely that the ten players who tested positive today could not be available for the match against OM. As a reminder, the isolation period for a positive Covid-19 case is 10 days in France.
The reserve against Brest?
In addition to the scenario of a report of the match against Brest, the possibility that Bordeaux simply sends its reserve to the Coupe de France is not excluded in the event of the journalist’s refusal of the meeting.
A possibility that could be utopian given the regulations of the FFF. This regulation stipulates that “the clubs are required to include on the refereeing sheet at least seven players who have taken part in one of the last two official matches played by their first team”.
A puzzle therefore begins for the management of the Navy and White.
