Nico Rosberg discovers the Ferrari F40 in Monaco! (+ video)
In his latest video, Nico Rosberg takes us for a ride on the heights of Monaco at the wheel of one of the most legendary supercars: the Ferrari F40!
As a lover of fine mechanics that he is, Nico Rosberg stop at nothing to have fun. The former world champion Formula 1, converted back to successful youtuber (his channel recently passed one million subscribers) had the opportunity again for the holiday season.
In his latest production, below visible, the former Mercedes driver realizes an authentic kid’s dream by taking the wheel of a Ferrari F40. There is no need to introduce what will forever be remembered as Maranello’s last supercar born during Enzo Ferrari’s lifetime. Driven by a 478 horsepower twin-turbo V8, the “bella rossa” was produced in 1315 copies between 1987 and 1992, becoming from its launch an object of worship throughout the world.
Or, it turns out that one of the neighboring riches of Nico Rosberg in Monaco has one! The German says that it has been several years since he spotted the car around a garage door. As the holidays approached, he took his courage in both hands and left a word on his windshield, asking the owner if he could test it for video purposes. Also said, also done: the neighbor gave him the keys for a stroll on the ridges of the principality.
A modernized version of the F40
If, from the outside, the F40 looks roughly like its congeners, we notice that the interior has received a more modern kit, especially at the level of flying. As soon as he switches on the ignition, Rosberg also feels the work of the suspension system which raises the ground clearance. Convenient to pass the speed bumps and other roughness of the road!
Although modernized, the supercar still retains the character of a machine from the past century, with its well-felt ton, not the most flexible steering and a manual gearbox to be handled with skill.
Find out below how Nico Rosberg manages at the wheel of the Ferrari F40, not without some surprises!
