from Brittany to the Pyrenees green thrillers for teens but not only
Thierry Colombié, specialist in organized crime and organized crime, launches out in the green thriller launched by the Toulouse publisher Milan. Targeted: a teenager audience but also adults. All against the backdrop of an investigation into environmental crime.
Klervi is 17 years old and lives in Brittany. She is madly in love with Lucas who takes her to torch 500 euro bills at the casino. Where does this money come from? Family business: trafficking in glass eels, baby eels, a protected species that sells for as dear as cocaine.
Klervi’s brother is a staunch defender of the environment. She discovers him one day inanimate on a beach covered with green algae. She herself loses consciousness before waking up in the hospital. The gendarmes will open an investigation for which the teenager will have no other choice but to be their mole.
Reality beyond fiction
And here is the reader facing a “legends office” teenager and ecological version. “For 25 years, I have made a point of not inventing anything. Here everything is plausible. Whether it is on the side of the police or the traffickers, reality exceeds fiction” explains the author.
Initially Thierry Colombié was part of the project of a documentary series on the green mafias, a project aborted by the Covid and the confinement. At the same time, the Milan editions are looking to launch green thrillers for teens and contact him. “I had documented at length with Oclaesp, the Central Office against Attacks on the Environment and Public Health,” he specifies.
Beyond the commercial vein which now constitutes the green thrillers, the Toulouse author wishes to “raise awareness of environmental crime”. “For 20 years, I have been telling the story of the invisible, underground world, going as close as possible to reality. I took a lot of risks, published around fifteen books on organized crime. so that the reader can mobilize his five senses. reborn. respect his environment “.
The first volume got off to a good start in terms of sales. And for good reason, it is also bought and read by adults. “They also have things but learn about the life of a today” explains Thierry Colombié.
The first two volumes of Polar Vert take place in Brittany but the next two will take place for places of investigation in the Pyrenees. “We will talk about forests at first. They are at the heart of multiple poaching from Isards to vultures but also trafficking in plant species such as gentian or arnica”.
Finally, the fourth volume will have the bear as its central protagonist. “It tells about all the elements of dramaturgy” enthuses Thierry Colombié. “It’s amazing that there isn’t a movie or a novel on it yet.” This will soon be chosen made. The Toulouse author-investigator finalize the manuscript.
