AS Monaco: panic on the Rock, the star striker wants to leave
Having arrived at the Principality’s club a year ago, Kevin Volland quickly adapted to the Niko Kovac system introduced at AS Monaco. Happy in France, he spoke of a potential departure during an interview with the German press.
Landed in September 2020 from Bayer Leverkusen for the modest sum of 11 million euros, Kevin Volland quickly integrated into AS Monaco and the Niko Kovac system forming, alongside Wissam Ben Yedder, an inseparable duo . For a first season of adaptation, the 29-year-old striker excelled by scoring 18 goals and delivering 8 assists in 40 games played in all competitions. This season, despite a less efficient collective, the German remains efficient with 7 goals and 8 assists in 26 games played. Bodes well for the Principality club.
However, if Kévin Volland seems totally fulfilled at AS Monaco, he does not see himself ending his career on the Rock. A return to his training club is his priority: ” For me, it would be nice if the Lions were promulgated. Then that would be an option for me as well. The third division is rather more difficult. But currently, this is not on the agenda“, Declared Kévin Volland in confidences made to BR24 Sport.
