The Principality thus becomes the sixth donor government for TV5 alongside Canada, the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, France, Quebec and Switzerland, he explains. The newly created Monegasque public broadcaster, Monte Carlo Riviera, will soon integrate the capital of TV5 Monde and sit on its board of directors.
This membership comes more than thirty years after the accession of the Canadian and Quebec governments in 1986. Created in 1984, the channel is 49% owned by France Télévisions. France Médias Monde owns 12.64%, RTBF and SSR each hold 11.11%, Radio-Canada 6.67%, Télé Québec 4.44%, Arte France 3.29% and INA 1.74% .
