AS Monaco: The recruits disappoint
AS Monaco spent nearly 35 million euros during the last summer transfer window. And the recruits did not completely live up to expectations.
Myron Boadu: Bought from AZ Alkmaar for 17 million euros, the striker was announced as a serial scorer, who had still scored 29 goals in 55 league games over his last two seasons with AZ. But the Dutch find it difficult to acclimatize to the French championship. Only 2 small goals in 24 TCC games with AS Monaco. It was even necessary to wait until the beginning of December to see him register his first but in Ligue 1. It will therefore be necessary to regain confidence for the player who will celebrate his 21 years in January, to make his transfer profitable and truly launch his season.
Jean Lucas: arriving from Lyon where he never knew how to win, Jean Lucas found the same problems at AS Monaco. His mixed performance gradually made him lose playing time and the 23-year-old Brazilian holds less often than at the start of the season. No goals and no assists in 20 games for the one who had been recruited for 11 million euros this summer.
Ismail Jakobs: bought for 6.5 million euros, the German also disappoints. A small assist in 20 games, it is too little compared to what was expected of him. However his coach wants to put him in confidence and has started him 4 times in the last 6 games, a first for the one who is only one holder at the beginning of November.
Finally, Alexandre nubel, loaned for 2 years by Bayern Munich, was able to raise his head after a complicated start to the season, just like that of his team. Solid again, the German goalkeeper has the complete confidence of his coach, having played 27 of 30 AS Monaco games this season.
