EssilorLuxottica and GrandVision announced Thursday the sale of 142 stores in the Netherlands and 35 in Belgium, in accordance with commitments made to the European Commission during the validation of their marriage, according to a press release.

According to the press release released Thursday evening, the 142 EyeWish stores in the Netherlands and the 35 GrandOptical stores in Belgium were sold to Optic Retail International Groupe Bene, an entity of MPG Austria, for an undisclosed amount. The finalization of the transaction is subject to the approval of the European Commission, in accordance with the commitment procedure. The finalization is expected during the first quarter of 2022, it is specified.
