Bulgaria’s energy system is stable, according to Minister Nikolov – Business
In Bulgaria and in the whole region up to Hungary and for all neighboring countries the price of electricity is relatively the same and will be so, as we are a single market. The good news is that more and more, even if the system in Bulgaria is unstable from the visible point of view of electricity, this is not the case. There is a 15% growth in the last year of electricity production, and the real consumption of Bulgaria has increased by 4%, which is quite a good indicator compared to the real GDP growth, said today to BNT the Minister of Energy Alexander Nikolov.
He explained that the amount of electricity is increasing dramatically, which shows that the country’s energy capacity is more efficient than that of neighboring countries.
Regarding the dissatisfaction of the industry that it will be selected with the help of businesses to win record electricity prices, the Minister of Energy said that you can have this at the moment. “It is quite normal to have a higher growth of business, but I believe that a normal balance will be achieved. Communication with business will continue to activate support mechanisms,” said the Minister of Energy.
According to him, the reason for having a ceiling is, there must be forecasting in the budget, but the ceiling also provides an element of interest and attention from the businesses themselves, which should monitor prices so as to help avoid peaks. in Bulgaria.
He added that medium- and long-term measures are currently being discussed. “The lightening of the procedures for creating facilities for own use, ie. fast enough to lighten systems and put pressure on business, not to mention administrative support, for the whole bridge – from the investor who helps small and medium-sized businesses to the implementation of this project and a real drastic reduction the burden of energy as a cost in business “, explained Minister Nikolov.
To begin to better balance the system, measures will be taken, connect with long-term planning, including how to plan and the cost of funds for electricity networks, an additional Minister of Energy.
Nikolov did not comment on the moratorium imposed by the National Assembly on electricity prices due to the separation of powers in the country. He said only that this was not a big problem, but would refrain from evaluating the decisions taken by the legislature.
In addition, compensation for businesses is not considered, they pay high prices for natural gas, because as a local business that uses natural gas, this price is significantly lower than the price of neighboring countries and the average in Europe.
