Train drivers on the Gdańsk-Warsaw line will ensure the maintenance of the old radio for a long time
PKP PLK announced that the digital communication system on the Gdańsk-Warsaw line will be implemented later than before. The delay will be over a year. Travels at speeds of up to 250 km / h have gone further.
The Gdańsk-Warsaw railway line aspires to be a high-speed railway. The speed has been released on it to 200 km / h for the transportation changes. Unfortunately in terms of communication Polish railways they have not been able to run into modernity for years. Train crews are still communicating via the radio communication system in the 150 MHz band.
On January 2, on the Gdańsk-Warszawa Wschodnie line, changes are introduced during the operation of the GSM-R system. They informed the Railway Transport Office to the system known from the PKP PLK tool that the deadline was postponed until one and a half years, until July 2023.
Observed operation consists in the fact that an analog system will be used on a given line used without services before the final implementation of the new GSM-R system. The observed sequence of railway communication stations will be used.
