From Hungary to Florence for the citizens’ panel, just divided states
FLORENCE – The citizens’ panels of the Conference on the Future of Europe are “a great test to have that all countries are on the same side: I would like the EU to be ever more united and less and less a set of separate states”. This was stated by Kristof Papp, a 26-year-old Hungarian among the 200 European citizens in recent days at the European University Institute of Fiesole (Florence) for the second panel of the Conference, dedicated to the themes of the rule of law, values and European identity . Papp, who has just graduated and started working as a marketing consultant, said he was very happy to have been among the 800 citizens drawn to participate in the Conference: “It is a great opportunity to learn more about the EU and how it works “, he explained, noting that” there are many challenges, and there is a vast spectrum of issues addressed in the panel. The environment is certainly one of the main, given the global impact: but also issues such as democracy, and the values of the EU, in my opinion, are among the greatest challenges. I really liked the part linked to education and digitization, which are fundamental for our future “. WATCH THE VIDEO INTERVIEW
