Toulouse FC supporters under close surveillance in Nîmes on Tuesday
The match is classified as high risk by the authorities. Toulouse supporters outside the club declared persona non grata at the Costières stadium on Tuesday evening for the football match against Nîmes in Ligue 2.
The match which will take place between Nîmes Olympique and Toulouse Football Club, mTuesday, December 21, 2021, at 8:45 p.m., at the Stade des Costières, for the 19th day of the French Ligue 2 Football Championship, was classified as “at risk” by the National Division for the Fight against Hooliganism (DNLH).
With the exception of 300 supporters who will come by bus under the responsibility of the Toulouse Football Club, anything that closely or remotely resembles a Toulouse supporter will therefore not be welcome in Nîmes, this Tuesday, December 21, from 8 am!
In view of the incidents between Toulouse supporters and Nîmes supporters during previous football matches, in 2018 and 2019 especially , the prefect of Gard decided to ban, by prefectural decree, “to any person availing himself of the quality of supporter of Toulouse Football Club or behaving as such, from Tuesday December 21, 2021 8 am to Wednesday December 22, 2021 8 am, to circulate or to park on the public highway” in a large perimeter which includes the Costières stadium and its surroundings, the city center, the train station and the arenas.
The prefecture also banned the possession of “alcoholic beverages, pbanners, smoke bombs, flags or streamers the inscriptions of which call to provocation, violence or hatred and any object capable of being used as a projectile “ in the same perimeter.
All individuals likely to be assimilated to a Toulouse Football Club supporter are also prohibited, such as: “display a flag, scarf, sign or any other piece of clothing in the colors or symbols of the Toulouse Football Club or to sing the anthems specific to this club”, let the Gard prefecture know in a press release.
The only supporters tolerated for the opposing camp are therefore those who will come under the responsibility of Toulouse Football Club.
But they too will be placed under surveillance because they will have to regroup at a specific meeting point before being registered towards the visitor car park and the west stand of the Costières stadium.
