The exhibition on the history of the Olympic Games was inaugurated
Paralympians and Olympians were honored for their contribution at the event, followed by a tour of the new exhibition.
Presence of the Minister of Culture, Lina Mendoni and the Deputy Minister of Sports, Lefteri Avgenaki, was inaugurated on Monday afternoon new exhibition space of the Olympic Museum of Thessaloniki and the new Permanent Exhibition on the subject “Olympic Games”, which tells the world history of the Olympic Games.
“Today is a very nice day for the Olympic Museum but also for all Greeks who belong to the family of Hellenism and sports. “Our presence here today is precisely because we want to signal the great offer of the museum in the city of Thessaloniki but also in general the promotion of Olympic ideas and ideals,” said the Minister of Culture, Lina Mendoni.
He went on to say that “it is the point where Hellenism touches on sports, the Olympic Games, a creation of Greek culture, a trademark of our country. It is the brand with which Greece travels the world, the message they convey is of excellence and noble rivalry. That’s exactly what our society needs today. “
The Deputy Minister of Sports, Lefteris Avgenakis, stressed on his part that “we all celebrate the anniversary of the Olympic Museum here in Thessaloniki and of course this will more strongly strengthen the messages sent by Hellenism, values and healthy sports. For this reason, I also greet with my own presence on behalf of the government today the pleasant day, the joyful news of the operation of the new section of the Olympic Museum. I am sure that this can be accompanied by many actions such that will strengthen the messages of healthy sports, solidarity, teamwork, unity, which serve the healthy parts of the sports family. Together we take the sport of our country higher. Happy birthday to everyone and those who have not been vaccinated it is good to be vaccinated.
