The lively training of talent continues at series champion Red Bull Salzburg in the usual manner. As announced by the league crosus, the 18-year-old defender Lukas Wallner signs a long-term contract that binds him to the Mozartstadt team until June 30, 2025. The young talent has so far been used for cooperation club delivery in the 2nd division, where he was used in twelve of 16 games this season and led his team onto the field ten times as captain. Last season he played ten games for the Lieferinger team, and he also played five times in the UEFA Youth League for the Salzburg offspring. Now the 18-year-old will start the preparation with the Bundesliga professionals and attend the training camp in Marbella, Spain.
As a cooperation player, Wallner will continue to work for Rene Aufhauser’s team in the second division, which with 35 points was second behind Austria Lustenau during the winter break. Born in Salzburg, he switched from TSV St. Johann to the youngsters of the “Red Bulls” when he was ten and then went through all academy years. In the 2018/19 season he was crowned Austrian champion in the U16s, he was also used in all Austrian junior national teams from the U15s to the U19s, and was last in the autumn for the first time for the U21s from team boss Werner Gregoritsch nominated, but did not get any game minutes.
