No lung machine free in Salzburg: Covid patient flown to Vienna
Another person had to be brought to Vienna because of limited resources in Salzburg. Of four patients transferred in November, two are still in critical condition.
Even if the corona numbers in Salzburg continue to decline, the pandemic still has Salzburg’s hospitals firmly under control. Last Friday, another intensive care transport of a Covid patient took place with the ÖAMTC helicopter C33.
The condition of a 58-year-old patient was damaged in the clinic in Schwarzach. From the doctors’ point of view, the only way to save the man’s life was to put him on a lung replacement machine (ECMO).
