TSV Hartberg sign ex-Salzburg Patrick Farkas
The 29-year-old right-back Patrick Farkas will switch from the Swiss first division club FC Luzern to TSV Hartberg in the winter transfer window and will sign a working paper until summer 2024.
The Burgenland from Oberwart is returning to his homeland. Farkas has enormous experience in the Austrian Bundesliga.
Eight years with SV Mattersburg and four seasons with series champions FC Red Bull Salzburg, followed by the jump to Switzerland earlier last summer.
Farkas has played 222 Bundesliga games in his legs. He scored 6 goals and 23 assists.
“Patrick Farkas is a player from the region who has his roots in Oberwart. Since he wanted to go back home, we didn’t hesitate and contacted him straight away. He’s an ideal match for TSV Hartberg. Patrick also has a lot of experience in the Austrian Bundesliga, which is very valuable to us. He was always a regular player and we are convinced that.
Farkas also commented on his return to Austria: “I am happy to be part of the Hartberg family. Year behind me in Lucerne. A very significant time that was not easy for me. Lots of lost games, the injury and no family there, who stayed in Austria. “
Farkas continues: “I learned a lot in Switzerland, but then you don’t feel well and that’s why they are looking for solutions that Hartberg has now offered me. I’m very happy that it worked and that the transfer came about . I want to help the team with my experience, with my age and the stations I’ve already had as a player. Now I’m looking forward to the preparation and the team. “
