Red-Green-Red is getting ready to go in Berlin – BZ Berlin
The red-green-red coalition with the future governing mayor Franziska Giffey (SPD) is getting ready to go.
Before the planned signing of the coalition agreement and Giffey’s election on Tuesday, the Greens nominated their candidates for the post of state secretaries at the weekend. Finally, on Monday, the SPD also wants to announce who it wants for the Senate post.
The left was the last of the three parties to approve the coalition agreement on Friday. This clears the way for the new edition of the three-party alliance, which has ruled together since 2016, three months after the MPs were elected.
In the future Senate, the previous Green parliamentary group leader, Bettina Jarasch, will be the Senator for the Environment and Transport. She will be her spokesman, Markus Kamrad, as State Secretary for Consumer Protection.
The planned state secretary for the environment is Silke Karcher, previously head of division in the Federal Environment Ministry. Railway manager Meike Niedbal is to become State Secretary for Transport.
The future Senator for Science Ulrike Gote will be the doctor and psychotherapist Thomas Götz as State Secretary for Health and Nursing and the lawyer Armaghan Naghipour as State Secretary for Science, Research and Equality.
