Three Luxembourg producers winners of Coqs de Cristal and Agriculteurs de Valeurs (Libramont-Chevigny)
– APAQ-W
The best Walloon food products were awarded this Friday. Among the 16 laureates, 3 are based in the province of Luxembourg.
The Walloon Agency for the Promotion of Quality Agriculture (APAQ-W), Accueil Champêtre en Wallonie and the Libramont Fair announced this Friday the Crystal Coqs and designated the 2021 Values Farmers.
For 27 years, the Coq de Cristal competition has rewarded artisanal food products of excellence from our region. Around seventy products from around fifty producers in the Walloon region were presented, tasted and listed.
Ten producers were rewarded, including two in the province of Luxembourg. These are the Plateau du Gerny in Aye and the Biohérin farm in Lesterny. The other winners are the Ferme de la Grosse Haie in Sambreville, the butcher at the Ferme Martin in Naomé, the Ferme du Vieux Tilleul in Bierwart, the bakery and pastry shop at Place in Bois-de-Villers, the Ferme Schalenbourg in Haneffe, the Mathonet fish farm in Malmédy, the Liège cooperative brewery in Lantin and the Goyette farm in Loupoigne
Value Farmers
The “Farmer of Values” distinction is a reward or a sign of recognition and encouragement for the men and women who produce our food and shape our landscapes. This award highlights the role played by the profession in economic, social and environmental terms.
A couple, among the six winners, distinguished themselves in our province: Edith and Marc Gailly from the Gailly Jourdan nursery in Paliseul. They were alongside Buttiens Fruits in Verlaine (province of Liège), Marie and Dimitri Burniaux from the Champignol farm in Surice, Bernard and Delphine Bartholomé from the Tambourin farm in Rebecq, Anne-Sophie de Wouters from the Grange farm in Anhée and finally Kris Van Wynsberghe from the Abbey farm in Saint-Aubin.
We will come back to the presentation of these prizes in more detail in our Monday edition.
