The Ruthénoise Marjorie Dalbin invites the Aveyronnais of Toulouse to put their feet under the table
Established for a long time in the Pink City, former captain of Rodez Aveyron football, an executive at Carrefour, the thirty-something has not turned her back on the department where she was born. She had “The somewhat crazy idea” of meeting around a meal all those who have left the country in order to settle in the regional capital. It will be served on Thursday January 6 at the Chimères and more than 50 guests have already responded to the invitation!
While the Amicale des Aveyronnais de Toulouse et Haute-Garonne, taken over by the lawyer Laurence Destruel, must blow out in 2022 the candles of its half-century of existence, which has not been able to organize its market in recent years de pays, “little brother” of that of Bercy in Paris, on the emblematic Place du Capitole, another initiative, responding to this same philosophy, complementary, has just seen the light of day. Marjorie Dalbin thus decided to organize a meal in the Pink City, inviting the Aveyronnais of Toulouse to set foot under the table. It will be served on Thursday January 6, 2022, at 7 p.m., at the Les Chimères restaurant, located at the foot of the Saint-Cyprien metro station, obviously run by locals, Patrick and Manon Laur, the father and his daughter.
The first attempt is turning into a master stroke since 70 people have shown themselves to be reported, about fifty have already said a firm “yes” to the invitation and registrations are still open for a few more days. “It’s a very nice surprise!, rejoices the mistress of ceremonies. There is the number of course but also the messages that I have received. In most emails, there is a warm thank you but also impatience.“. Marjorie Dalbin is in heaven:”I like to initiate projects, that’s what drives me, and bring people together. So I had this crazy idea a few weeks ago and everything went very quickly“.
La Ruthénoise went through the list of 1,300 names of the Aveyron WorldWide group (which she knew during her professional stay in Nancy), a network created in 2014 by Stéphane Rouquette and Christophe Palous, and which enables Aveyron expats in France and abroad to forge links, to find those who had put their bags in Toulouse. She found 300 and sent as many emails. She then created a doodle with three date proposals and a WhatsApp group to benefit from some support at the level of the organization. “Everything went very quickly and the result exceeds my most optimistic hopes.“, recognizes the one who was born in Rodez, in 1987, to a mother from Castanet, near Rieupeyroux, and a father from Baraqueville.
After studying at EGC in Rodez, she returned to Carrefour, where she has worked for twelve years. After Clermont, Lourdes or Nancy, she has therefore taken up her quarters in Toulouse where she is the commercial director of the “nearby entity” of the 600 franchised stores (express, contact, city). “It is certainly exhausting, but I love people. What I love about my job is getting the teams on board“, she concludes. These values stick to her skin since she practiced sport, first gymnastics, then athletics, and finally football. After having played mixed, in Onet-le-Château , she wore Rodez’s jersey and was the captain of the team that signed the rise to Division 1.
