The Christmas holidays begin on Friday December 17, 2021. Here are some ideas to end the year well with family or friends, in Toulouse and in the region.
# 1 A trip to the Christmas markets
Place du Capitole, the aisles of the market are to be visited until December 26th. Regarding the artisanal and solidarity market of allées Jules-Guesde, you have until December 19th. In the neighborhoods, the majority of the markets have ended. The last to discover is the Empalot solidarity market, opposite the media library. It’s this Saturday, December 18, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (place Aline Viadieu).
In addition, the next two Sundays, December 19 and 26, 2021, stores will be open to facilitate your end-of-year shopping.
# 2 a lively city center
Meet at the ice rink from the Place du Capitole, until December 26 (daily from 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and until 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday). Square de Gaulle, it’s an invitation in the land of Santa Claus with ice sculpture, fanfare of goofy elves and parade of waders. Please note, the health pass is compulsory.
# 3 “Christmas in Lights” visits
The Pays d’Oc agency offers you a tour of the city by immersing yourself in the Christmas atmosphere, its illuminations and decorations, while learning a lot about our heritage and our traditions.

# 4 The Lantern Festival, of course!
The Lantern Festival is THE outing to do this winter in the city. Direction the Ritouret park Blagnac (Haute Garonne). An eight hectare park where you will discover 45 paintings made up of 2,500 lanterns.
In figures, the Blagnac festival is 2,500 lanterns, more than 180 tons of metal, more than 80,000 light bulbs, one ton of porcelain, 50,000 m² of silk and 30,000 pieces of ceramic.
# 5 Enchanted Christmas at the Halle de la Machine
Make Asterion the Minotaur and Santa Claus coexist? It’s possible ! From Saturday December 18, the True Machinists at 4:00 p.m. will invite children to storytelling readings every day. Until the end of the year, the exhibition “Building the Dragon of Calais” continue to present the 18 months of work to achieve this monumental machine, 25 meters tall and 72 tonnes strong.
And there will still be the ride on the back of the Minotaur, 10 meters high, and the Manège Carré Sénart.

# 6 The program at the Museum
Toulouse Museum, as usual, offers an eclectic and joyful program to Toulouse residents for Christmas. Guided tours OKA Amazonia and Magies-sorcelleries exhibitions, shows for young audiences, short films, an abundance of magicians… You won’t be bored!
# 7 Discovery rallies and town game
The leisure agency Granhota offers discovery rallies and game towns all year round for all audiences. The agency has set up five activity dates for these holidays: Saturday 18, Sunday 19, Wednesday 22, Friday 24 and Wednesday 29 December.
At the end of each activity, a snack and drink will be served, and Christmas gifts will be distributed. The Natura Quest base in Clermont-le-Fort, 30 minutes east of the Pink City, is one of these end-of-year activities.
# 8 In bars
The bars of the city love these blind test evenings where you test your general knowledge during aperitif time. In Saint Cyprien, O Boudu Pont is organizing a “magical Christmas Blind test” on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 10 pm (1, rue de la République).
The fun bar The cheaters will go into “Blind test of madness” mode on Tuesday December 21 at 8:30 pm, and will organize a Christmas party on Wednesday 22 at 8:30 pm.
Tropical Christmas at the cabaret
The cabaret Le 9, near Compans-Caffarelli, offers to warm up the Christmas atmosphere with a tropical evening on Saturday, December 18. The junior film library
The Cinémathèque de la Ville rose (the second in France behind Paris) is organizing the 3e edition of the Cinémathèque junior en fête. From Saturday 18 to Wednesday 22 December 2021, up to five days of creation workshops, special screenings and animations around the cinema.
The festival will discuss the opportunity to discover timeless works, from with a magician films by Georges Méliès, to revive Charlie Chaplin in the company of an animation film professional or to produce a large format poster for the Aladdin screening.
